What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is the act of amusing oneself or others. Examples of entertainment include movies, television, music, sports, games and reading. It is often a matter of taste, but some forms of entertainment are so familiar that they have proved highly enduring. The word comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, with the prefix “inter” meaning “inside” and the suffix ten, derived from the Indo-European root ten, meaning to hold or stretch out.

Many entertainment themes touch on deep psychological issues such as backstabbing, murder and social hierarchy that the human brain was evolved to deeply react to. This is what makes the medium so compelling to many people.
